2016.5 update 1
9 May 2017
ESI VA One 2016.5 offers a wide range of enhancements that will enable users to address common modeling applications even more easily in the automotive, aerospace, marine and industry sectors.
This Update 1 of VA One 2016.5 supports significant performance improvements and optimization related to hybrid and FE analysis and also addresses several maintenance fixes. Further performance improvements for hybrid modeling are planned for the fall release of VA One 2017.
VA One 2016.5 Update 1 Release Highlights
Hybrid / FE Modeling Performance Improvements
- Significant speedup of FE subsystem data recovery for large models
- Significant memory consumption reduction for calculating input power to FE subsystems
- Option introduced to significantly reduce memory consumption for large models by calculating total power input to FE subsystems instead of to each individual subsystem
- Significant speedup and memory consumption reduction when reading large ERF5 files
- Increase in the number of PEM subsystems allowed in a model
Maintenance Fixes
- Addressed an issue with combinations of GLM and Septum
- Improved error handling for mesh issues
- Corrected bug in script reading in FE mass matrix
- Correctly indicate FE subsystems as coupled following merge
- Correctly import all rotational degrees of freedom in all units from OP2 files
- Monopole functionality including hiding and being able to define duplicates corrected
- Corrected Periodic radiation efficiency error when FE face lies outside defined Periodic region
- Corrected error in “Create Area Isolator from NCT” script
- Corrected error where defined Groups were lost following Save, Close and Open operations
