ESI Visual-Environment 17.0 is now available.

Highlights of this version include:

• Python migration from 3.6.8 to 3.8.9 across Visual-Environment.
• Physically based rendering for CAD surfaces and support for 3DXML format versions 4.0 to 4.3 in Visual-Mesh.
• Selective geometry loading and visualization of results at all Gauss points in Visual-Viewer.
• Support for VPS 2021 in Visual-Crash PAM besides a fully customizable connection management tool to create, iterate and verify FE representations of different types of physical connections.
• Guided seat sewing simulation in Visual-Seat & Interior among other updates.
• A new semi-analytical approach to quickly assess die casting cooling design in Visual-Cast.
• Hybrid SMP and DMP method for CAFE2G grain modeling in Visual-Weld and support for automatic import/export of Assembly Process from/into Excel file in Visual-Assembly.
• In Visual-Body Stamp, an improved curve editor apart from support for spacers for all tools and the possibility to set up blenders with a bottom gap.
• Import of mesh in MIF format and creation of trim materials in Visual-FORM and in Visual-RTM, support for setting up VARI2D simulation. Visual-SMC offers export of PAM-SMC results into ABAQUS format.
• Support for OpenFOAM 2012 in Visual-CFD, besides support for Aeroacoustics features like Acoustic damping, Noise analysis, acoustic power.
• First release of crack mesh insertion and Creation of database for regulatory analyses input data in Visual-SYSTUS.
• Support of read, write and an option to convert files in i8 to i10 format in Visual-Crash DYNA.
• Surfacic roughness measurement tool to estimate the surface quality (Waviness and Roughness) due to the Milling Operations in each direction, in Visual-Machining.
• Support for spreading simulation and melting simulation in Visual-AM.
