Introduction to ProCAST

Description

The aim of the training is to give a detailed introduction to foundry simulation. The participants will learn all necessary features and functions for an efficient work with ProCAST in Visual-Environment. This is done on the basis of practical examples for different foundry processes, such as high pressure die casting (HPDC), low pressure gravity die casting (LPDC), gravity casting (GC) and investment casting (IC). The selection of casting processes covered during the training will be adapted to the group of participants. After completion of the training, direct entry into the application is possible even without previous FEM experience.

Audience

New ProCAST users, casting engineers involved in the mold design process and optimization

Objectives

Get started with ProCAST, the leading Finite Element solution for casting process simulation, including mold filling, solidification, microstructure and thermo-mechanical simulations.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of the casting process
