Speech clarity

Description

The training will show how SEA models are particularly well suited to be used in conjunction with ray tracing method which requires a coarse geometric description of the cavity, accurate models of sound package impedance on the cavity walls, and a statistical model of sound decay in the room; all of which are typically contained in an SEA model. The training is combining lectures, demos and hands-on sessions, participants acquire basic knowledge and understanding of the speech intelligibility
module of VA One.

Audience

CFD Engineers / Managers / Analysts

Objectives

During this training we will demonstrate how SEA models that are used for the prediction of interior noise can be combined with ray tracing methods which can be deployed to predict frequently used indices for speech transmissibility such as STI (Speech Transmission Index) and the RASTI (Rapid Speech Transmission Index).

Prerequisites

Participants should be familiar with the fundamentals of acoustics and vibrations.
