Underwater radiation simulation methods


Description

The different steps to create the underwater radiation model in VA One will be detailed: how to integrate the structure model of the ship, define sources, define the fluid properties and boundary conditions of the seabed define sources. The modeling technics of the interior cabins of the ship for low-mid frequency will also be discussed. The training is combining lectures, demos and hands-on sessions, participants acquire basic knowledge and understanding of the low frequency FEM/BEM modules of VA One.

Objectives

This training will introduce ways to compute underwater radiation signature of a ship.

Prerequisites

Participants should be familiar with the fundamentals of acoustics and vibrations. Previous knowledge of and experience with Boundary (BEM) and Finite Element (FEM) Methods is desirable but not required.
