ESI SYSTUS is a robust software package to simulate all the multi-physics involved in Mechanical Engineering. ESI SYSTUS solution is an Industry-validated software to perform Nuclear Power Plant regulatory analyses (ASME/RCC-M). In the field of fracture mechanics, it allows the customer to perform brittle and ductile fracture and fatigue analyses. For shape optimization, ESI SYSTUS offers an innovative application using level sets technology.

Highlights of ESI SYSTUS 2020

MODEL

• To reduce the number of nodes from a model or to undo a refinement, a function named COMBINE 3D has been implemented in VE15.5.1 on the same principle that the COMBINE 2D already existing.

THERMOMECHANICAL ANALYSES

• New label for automatic time step helps users to have all the instants needed to evaluate properly transients.
• To simplify mechanical analyses, a PRELOAD medium allows users to determine the value of initial strains to be imposed on bolts to get the pre-tightening force to be considered.

FRACTURE MECHANICS

• For FEM, input data file to compute energy release rate has been entirely reviewed and simplified.
• For X-FEM, users can carry out complete thermomechanical analyses up to the calculation of the energy release rate both in elasticity and elasto-plasticity, for linear and quadratic elements, or even carry out crack fatigue propagation analyses considering mode I.

REGULATORY ANALYSES

• The computation time has been considerably improved both for Standard and Differential method.
• The new Export Cross Sections module available with VE 15.5.1 enable users to create sets with access to all of available options.

 TOPAZE APPLICATION DEDICATED TO TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION

The application TOPAZE enable to solve problems of shape optimization, by using an innovative mix of level-set technology and topological optimization. This application is fully integrated into Visual-Environment.

NEW OPTIMIZATION CRITERIA

This version offers two new criteria: Volume Fraction and Mass Fraction. The user thus has the possibility of defining and managing these quantities not in absolute, but in fraction of their values on the design space. They are available directly in the TOPAZE interface for Visual-Systus.

CAE RETURN

At the end of the topological optimization process, TOPAZE automatically meshes the final shape from tetrahedral elements. However, the model obtained does not always have a sufficiently precise mesh to obtain quality results during mechanical recalculations. TOPAZE 2020 offers a new functionality which now allows users to characterize and modify their remeshing.

COUPLING WITH ESI-AM SOLUTION

ESI-AM solution is dedicated to additive manufacturing; calculates the manufacturing constraints of a component. TOPAZE can be used to optimize the supports of the part to be manufactured during the additive manufacturing process.
