ESI SYSWELD: From weld quality to body manufacturing & distortion engineering, Virtual Welding & Assembly Suite offers a unique computer-aided assessment of material characteristics, residual stresses and distortions by taking into account all the multi-physics that is involved in Welding, Heat Treatment and Assembly manufacturing processes.

ESI SYSWELD 2016.1 includes:

  • Welding Simulation: Visual-Weld 12.0 and SYSWELD Solvers 2016.1
  • Heat Treatment Simulation: Visual-HT 12.0 and SYSWELD Solvers 2016.1
  • Assembly Simulation: Visual-Assembly 12.0 and Virtual Assembly Solvers 2016.0 (Complete manufacturing chained simulation from Stamping - Prepositioning - Holding - Joining/Welding - Performance). Weld-Planner 5.0 functionalities are migrated in Visual-Assembly


Highlights of this release:


Welding and Heat Treatment functionalities:

  • Model set up enhancements such as thermal and mechanical contact management, heating advisor update, advanced input data generation, carburization heat treatment and welding chaining, computation speedup for very large models…
  • Enhanced simulation capabilities for resistance spot welding, fiction stir welding, Gravity...

Assembly functionalities:

Visual Assembly accomplishes industrial objectives to keep the welded assembly inside the tolerances and to minimize the stresses in order to achieve higher product performance. The following developments are done for assembly manufacturing:

  • Prepositioning Advisor: Starting from stamp deformed parts, user is able to preposition the deformed parts inside the reference point system
  • Holding Advisor: User can define the clamps, hold the parts together and then close the gap
  • Joining advisor: User can then export the deformed assembly, update the model and transport the data to perform the welding/joining simulation
  • Finally, user can easily obtain the complete stress and material characteristic to continue the simulation for durability and performance analysis

How to install:

Untar (with tar xvf) SYSWELD2016r1_Linux64.tar.gz in a temporary directory and execute ./INSTALL.SH
