Installation procedure for the VA One command-line batch solver (64bit only) on Linux

REQUIREMENTS:
- Intel 64 or AMD64 processor
- Minimum 8 GB RAM
- Minimum 5 GB disk space
- Linux Red Hat Enterprise 6+
- Intel MPI Library Runtime Environment 5.0 for DMP BEM
- blueCFD-Core (OpenFOAM) from http://www.openfoam.com for non-uniform FE Acoustic

INSTALLATION:
This section details the standard installation procedure for the 64-bit version of the VA One batch solver for Linux. The batch solver allows you to solve and save model files (.xml or .va1) that are platform independent. A .va1 file saved by the batch solver on Linux can also be opened by the graphical user interface of VA One on Windows. It is important to note that .va1 files created with earlier versions of VA One must saved in the VA One 2019 GUI (available on Windows only) before being used with the batch solver.

The Linux version of the VA One batch solver is distributed on the VA One DVD as a compressed tar archive

The compressed tar archive file is located on the VA One 2019 DVD in the Linux folder. The archive has been compressed using the standard GNU utility gzip.

Note, you do not need to log in as super-user (root), but you will need permissions to add files to the directory where the tar archive file will be uncompressed.

  1. Choose a location for the files on the workstation, for example, /opt/ESI.
  2. Copy the archive from the VA One 2019 DVD (Linux folder) into the chosen destination folder.

 cd /opt/ESI.  cp -p /media/cdrom/Linux/VAOne2019_solver_1.14.0-0.x86_64.tar.gz .

    3.    Extract the content of the compressed archive to create the VA One 2019 directory.

    tar -xvzf VAOne2019_solver_1.14.0-0.x86_64.tar.gz

    4.    Verify the files have been copied.

    ls -l /opt/ESI/VAOne2019
