ESI Additive Manufacturing 2020.5

ESI Additive Manufacturing: a unique solution for the simulation of Powder Bed Fusion Additive Manufacturing process.

This multi-scale and multi-physics tool offers first two modules dedicated to the manufacturability assessment challenge :

•  Prescan (quick estimation of optimized parameter sets): Find best estimated parameter sets (laser power, laser speed, lasing strategy, etc.) maximizing material deposition rate and material density through quick optimization algorithms (parameter ranges scanning).
•  Macro scale modeling: Part-scale simulation of the manufacturing process by a layer-by-layer activation approach. This module simulates distortions and residual stresses in the workpiece at any time during production. The analysis of a manufacturability criterion (maximum distortion in build direction) gives a manufacturability assessment, representative of the feasibility of the part as defined by the user considering its support strategy and orientation. Post processing operations allows to map results on initial geometry or to compensate it in order to minimize distortions for future builds. An advanced approach based on a thermo-mechanical simulation is now available as a beta feature in order to consider the scanning strategy and the heat source process parameters in the model to predict the job thermal history. The model also supports multiple components and supports, allows to consider heat treatment and removal stages.

ESI Additive Manufacturing 2020.5 is composed of the following applications:

• Visual-Environment 16.0.1
• AM Core 2020.5: Including Distortion and Prescan modules
• Prescan Optimizer: PAM-OPT 2019.1
•  Distortion Mesher: VisCART 2020.0 from ACE+ Suite 2020.0
• Distortion Solver: CSM 2020.0 & SYSWELD 2019.0

Main update regarding previous version of ESI Additive Manufacturing (2019.5) concerns the support of CSM solver, HPC solution from ESI Group, and the introduction of a new thermo-mechanical model to simulate the process at macro scale. Additional features have been added such as a Part Orientation assistant, advanced post-processing features, etc.

ESI Integraddup (in AddUp Manager) 2020.5.1 - Patch

Coupling with Addup Manager user interface, ESI Integraddup dispatcher 2020.5.1 is released with several improvements. The option “boundary” in the support is now correctly taken into account. Please note that the “explicit” option is dependent of a modification of the ini file and STL file writing from the AUM, and not ESI AM. The task cancellation works now for the first time while it is not supported for repeated task cancellation. It is now possible for the AddUp Manager to setup a domain marker per 3D entity directly in the ini file using the convention. “Build up to a desired layer” option is now supported in the patch.
