ESI SYSTUS allows nuclear engineers to pre-qualify new component designs in accordance with nuclear industry regulations. SYSTUS offers a complete resolution to analysis challenges in mechanics, heat transfer, and electrotechnics, and aims to help you verify the behavior of energy components – such as nozzles, primary circuit pumps, the reactor, and the steam generator, also in addition to other industrial components such as valves – during the design phase and accelerate decision-making during maintenance operations.
For shape optimization, ESI SYSTUS offers an innovative application using level sets technology.

Highlights of ESI SYSTUS 2021
THERMOMECHANICAL ANALYSES
- New labels for TRANSIENT NON LINEAR to compute automatically all the instants defining transients (thermal evolution) and load cases.
 - New medium to define a pre-strain on a group of elements in order to facilitate the consideration of residual stresses.

FRACTURE MECHANICS
- Creation in Visual-Environment of a fracture mechanics post-processor for SYSTUS. It enables users to easily compute:
- Stress Intensity Factor
 - Energy release rate

REGULATORY ANALYSES
- Creation of a new module named NEWREG for regulatory analyses in accordance with ASME and RCC-M codes, much more efficient than the existing one, integrating sub-cycles for differential method and making it possible to take into account the effects of plasticity, through the computation of the elastoplastic concentration factor Ke.

TOPAZE
- Level-set display
- Visual-Environment enables users to display easily the iso-zero of the level-set. Physical results can also be displayed on the level-set, during the computation or at the end.

 - CAE Return (Experimental)
- Improvement of the CAE Return functionality. This function allows users to re-mesh the final shape semi-automatically from the tetrahedral mesh produced at the end of the optimization.
