Parametric Studies with CFD-FASTRAN
CFD-FASTRAN-GUI has a new "Parametric Set Up" template that allows the user to run parametric cases. Most of the text input fields - including boundary conditions, properties, and solver control parameters - are available for parametric run. This allows the user to submit the parametric cases in one shot and post-process the results later on.

Understanding cell-splitting in CFD-VisCART and its effect on cell count
A grid created in CFD-VisCART will have a high percentage of Cartesian cells (100% for Stair-Step Mesh; as high as 90-95% for Projected Mesh). Since these form the bulk of the grid, it helps to make sure that these cells are built in an efficient manner.

Using CFD-VisCART in Batch Mode
CFD-VisCART allows you to handle extremely complex geometries with lots of details. Often, you may have a geometry that you only modify slightly, but would like to use the mesh parameters that you used previously. In order to make this very simple, a batch mode was implemented for CFD-VisCART v2006.

Splitting a Model in CFD-VisCART
CFD-VisCART is a 3D unstructured adaptive Cartesian mesh generator. It is ideally suited for external aerodynamics and automotive underhood applications involving extremely complex geometries. Models/geometries in SAT, Parasolid, STL, Nastran, 3DS, Plot3d and FAST formats can be imported into CFD-VisCART.

Grouping Objects in CFD-VisCART
When handling complex geometries in CFD-VisCART, the list of geometric surface can quickly become very large and make the management of the model rather tricky.

Gridding a Hemisphere in a Box with a Structured Butterfly Grid
Since spheres, hemispheroids, ellipsoids, and related geometries are very common in a great variety of problems, some techniques have been developed to mesh this class of geometries with structured grid systems. Just as a butterfly grid can be used to grid a circular face, here we will demonstrate how this approach is used to create a 3D butterfly grid for meshing a hemisphere.

DTF utility: the -vd and -ud options
The DTF utility offers several options for viewing and manipulating simulation data in a DTF file. Simulation data is essentially all settings that are not Volume Conditions or Boundary Conditions. By using a couple of DTF commands, you can update the data in the DTF file without opening it in CFD-ACE-GUI. In this tip, we will demonstrate how to use the -vd and -ud options of the DTF utility.

CFD-TOPO: A Tool for Feature Scale Simulation of Semiconductor Processes
CFD-TOPO is a simulation tool that predicts how the shape of entities change due to the combined effects of chemical species transport and surface reactions at gas-solid interfaces. This application provides a wide array of tools to analyze the steps of a semiconductor process on the feature scale of a device (typically the order of micro-meter).

Automatic Report Generator in CFD-CADalyzer
The Report Generator in CFD-CADalyzer allows a user to generate and print a detailed report of the CFD simulation that has been set up and run. The user can also customize the report to make it fit his/her needs and demands.
